DIY GoPro Leash

I needed a leash for my GoPro for a little extra protection and safety. You can buy some but they are connected via another mount which is not what I wanted. I needed a flexible option that could be used in a lot of scenarios. I googled how to make one and they are quite a few good videos on how to create them. I followed their direction and created the piece below.

Here are the essential pieces I used. You can get the little metal piece in the electrical department. I couldn’t find any without the yellow layer so I had to remove that to make it work.

Thread the rope through the piece and burn the end to create a cap. Bend the metal piece tight and secure the rope further with tape.

Cut the rope the length you want and sew a loop. Then tape over the thread to secure further.

Not bad. Probably cost $10 and took 20 minutes to make.
